Privacy Policy
Effective 19 September 2026. PopupNinja is built so the extension can hide overlays on your device without sending your browsing to us.
Who we are
PopupNinja is provided by 10440841 Canada Inc. (“we”). Contact: sharingmagicwithworld@gmail.com. This policy covers the iOS app, the Safari web extension, and this website (including the rules JSON hosted here).
What we do not collect
We do not ask you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email (unless you write to us), location, contacts, photos, payment info, advertising ID, or precise browsing history. The extension does not send page URLs, cookies, page content, or form data to our servers.
Data stored only on your device
The app and extension may keep your enabled overlay catalog list and a cached copy of the overlay-rules JSON in Apple’s standard app storage (App Group UserDefaults / Safari extension storage). That cache stays on the device so the extension still works offline. We cannot read it.
Optional rules download
If you tap Load latest rules in the app, or if the extension checks for updates, your device requests a public JSON file from this website. The request includes the catalog ids you enabled (for example in a ?sites= query). It does not include cookies, a user ID, or the page you were viewing in Safari.
When you open the app, tap Load latest rules, or the extension checks for updates, your device also downloads the public list of supported websites so new ones can appear without an app update. That request contains no ids or other information about you.
The extension can only run on a website after you add it in the app and then tap Allow for that website in Safari. It never asks for access to websites you did not add.
The response is a declarative JSON file (selectors and hide/remove actions). The client rejects anything that is not valid rule data and never executes downloaded JavaScript.
This website and hosting
The app, extension, and this site are hosted on Vercel. Like most HTTPS hosts, Vercel may keep ordinary server logs such as IP address, date, and user-agent for security and reliability. We do not use those logs to identify you, build profiles, or show ads. We do not run analytics or advertising SDKs in the app.
If you email us, or send the overlay rule request form, we receive the address, page URL, notes, and any screenshot you attach so we can reply or build a catalog. The form is posted through FormSubmit, which emails 10440841 Canada Inc. We keep that correspondence only as long as needed to help you.
App Store privacy nutrition labels
In App Store Connect we declare Data Not Collected. That matches this design: no account, no tracking, and no browsing content sent to us. The rules download is a public configuration file, not user data we collect. Standard host logs described above are not used by us to identify users.
Permissions and tracking
PopupNinja does not use App Tracking Transparency, IDFA, or third-party ad or analytics SDKs. Safari still asks you to allow the extension on each website. That permission is controlled by iOS and is not a data upload to us.
Children
The app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Sites you visit
When you browse in Safari, those websites have their own privacy policies. PopupNinja only changes how some overlay elements are shown on your device. We do not operate those services and we do not receive what you read there.
For some websites in the catalog, PopupNinja also stops pop-up windows that the site's ad scripts open to other websites, and asks Safari to block requests to a short list of ad-network domains named in the catalog. Safari applies those blocks on your device, in every tab, only while you have that website turned on. The extension does not see or record which requests were blocked, and nothing about them is sent to us.
Your choices
Turn the extension off in Settings → Apps → Safari → Extensions. Delete the app to remove local caches. You can also ignore rule updates; bundled rules still work. To ask a question or request deletion of any email you sent us, use Contact.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date. Material changes will also be reflected in the App Store listing when we ship an app update.
